Prince William and Kate Middleton are chalking up 14 years of wedded bliss this year, but the couple, who tied the knot in April, 2011, have had their fair share of scandalous rumours.

William first met his future wife, and Queen, Kate, while off to university at St. Andrews, but before settling down, the young and eligible prince added quite a few flings to his belt, including a few romances at the same place where he ultimately found Kate.

According to reports, before meeting Kate, William not only dated one, but about three young girls at St. Andrews, and one of them, Rose Farquhar, stood out as what many consider his ‘first love’.

Rose, the daughter of Captain Ian Farquhar, former master of the Beaufort Hunt, is said to have met Prince William at the Beaufort Polo Club in Gloucestershire, after which the two hit it off with sparks flying.

While William’s on-again off-again romance with Kate took nosedives, he continued to date around, but notably kept a close friendship with none other than his ‘first love’, Rose.

Interestingly, Rose was famously spotted at her ex-love William’s historic nuptials with Kate in 2011.

And what’s more, Prince William returned the favor 11 years later when he attended Rose’s wedding to George Gemmell in 2022. Now that’s some friendship!

It is pertinent to note that Prince William and Kate Middleton have been married since April, 2011 and share three children, Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte.
