EastEnders star Heather Peace has confirmed that there could be more drama to come for Eve Unwin and Suki Panesar.

The popular soap couple have had an eventful journey over the last couple of years, developing from an affair into a stable relationship.

Nish has recently tried to cause chaos for his ex-wife Suki, after he discovered that she and Vinny had been plotting behind his back to try and reclaim the Panesar empire.

His latest scheme reunited Suki with Ayesha, the first woman she ever fell in love with, and the pair’s familiarity made Eve feel insecure.

The situation led Eve to propose and while it wasn’t an easy yes, Suki later proposed herself and the couple are now happily engaged.

But when Heather caught up with Digital Spy at the official nominees photoshoot for the Inside Soap Awards 2024, she teased that ‘Sukeve’ might not get their happily ever after just yet.

“It’s not done, is it?” Heather said. “They’re together, but there’s Nish plotting away and obviously Eve doesn’t know about The Six… I feel like they should build on their communication skills a little bit more!

“So I don’t think it’s quite the end yet, do you know what I mean? It’s not the end of the book.”

Heather and co-star Balvinder Sopal are nominated for Best Partnership at this year’s Inside Soap Awards for their portrayal of fan favourites Eve and Suki.

Speaking about how the pair have built their relationship, Heather explained: “The story has been a long one, it’s been two years to get to where we are now. I feel like we’ve tried to together to pay a lot of attention to detail and hopefully build a love story. And we’re both really committed to it being this love story.”

EastEnders will celebrate its 40th anniversary next year, and like the viewers, Heather is looking forward to what this special occasion will bring.

“We’ve obviously got Christmas, which is usually huge,” she said. “New Year is usually huge, and then the 40th [anniversary]. Chris Clenshaw keeps surprising viewers again and again, and to be part of the show at this time is an absolute honour.

“It’s an iconic show and I’m just thankful to be on the gig right now. You always want to be proud of the work you’re putting out, and I’m really proud of everyone.”
