How Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis has affected her relationship with Prince William
The Princess of Wales is getting preventive treatment for cancer
The Prince and Princess of Wales are set to celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary at the end of this month.
And, as they reach this milestone, they may reflect on the fact that their “unshakeable” bond has only strengthened.
According to royal author Robert Jobson, the pair is facing their most difficult hurdle yet: Kate’s cancer prevention treatment. However, the Princess’ health challenges have brought them closer together, and they will emerge stronger as a result of their experiences.
In this week’s HELLO!, Robert, whose book Catherine, the Princess of Wales: A Biography of the Future Queen will be published on July 4, said: “Their upcoming anniversary is a testament to not only their love, but also their unity.” I’m confident they’ll honor their journey, recognizing that their power comes from being together.
“The ups and downs they have weathered together have cemented their bond, which is now unshakeable.”
Robert also stated, “It has been difficult for both of them, especially as parents, to reconcile their children’s mental health with the seriousness of her disease.
“But there is no denying that William has been Catherine’s rock. He is a constant in her life, and she is the center of his.
The royal pair met as undergraduates at the University of St Andrews and remained close friends before their romance developed in 2002.
It has been 20 years since their romance became public, when they were pictured together on the slopes of Swiss ski resort Klosters.
The couple may be a world apart from their carefree early years of love, but the Prince is still loyal to his wife and determined to be there for her as she undergoes cancer treatment.
Although their responsibilities to the Crown and royal duties will grow over time as they prepare for their future as King and Queen, the couple has chosen to prioritise their family life right now and keep things as normal as possible for their beloved children Prince George, ten, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, who turns six on Tuesday.
While Kate was recovering from abdominal surgery in January, the heir apparent completed the daily school run. In recent weeks, it is believed that Kate has been eager to rejoin them whenever possible.
“Catherine has done her best to stick to a routine for the sake of the children,” Robert stated. William and she both understand how important it is to live each day as it comes. Although they were both emotionally devastated when they initially heard the diagnosis, they are both resilient.
“Without doubt, it has brought the couple even closer together.”
