General Hospital Alum Janis Paige’s Acting Legacy
A veteran actress, who had an amazing career in Hollywood, Paige began in the 1940s with minor movie roles, and hit Broadway in 1954, starring in The Pajama Game. She did other Broadway shows after that, including Alone Together, Mame, and Here’s Love.
Her impact on primetime television was tremendous with a hit sitcom on CBS, called It’s Always Jan. which had a nice run with two seasons.
Still, she also had appearances on other shows like The Love Boat, Charlie’s Angels, Columbo, and The Mary Tyler Moore Show as well as recurring roles on Eight is Enough, Trapper John M.D., and All In The Family.
In addition, Paige also worked on movies like Please Don’t Eat The Dishes, Romance On The High Seas, and Silk Stockings.
General Hospital Alum Janis Paige’s Impact In The Land Of Daytime
Janis’s career spilled into the land of daytime drama, joining the cast of Capitol in 1987 as Sam Clegg’s first wife, Laureen.
She moved on to enter the land of Port Charles in 1989, playing Iona Huntington, Katherine Delafield’s (Edie Lehmann) aunt. Fun fact, Ned Quartermaine ended up buying Spoon Island from her. Paige was at GH until 1990.
She jumped from GH to the NBC soap, Santa Barbara in 1990, playing the character of Minx Lockridge. Janis stayed on with the daytime drama in that role until it went off the air in 1993.
