King Charles and Prince William are still furious at Prince Harry for his “betrayal” as they continue to ignore the estranged royal’s pleas for a reconciliation.

According to reports, William has no place for Harry even if the monarch secretly hopes for some sort of reconciliation with his darling boy, Harry.

Given the current rift between the brothers, it’s a hard to imagine a time when the two shared a very strong bond together. There was also a time that Charles had to step in as William had a hard time adjusting and he missed Harry dearly.

The former press secretary to King Charles, Colleen Harris, recounted the time when William had joined St Andrews University in 2001 via Robert Lacey’s book, Battle of Brothers.

At the time, the 19-year-old was “really nervous when he arrived” especially since he was under constant scrutiny of the media.

“All the press were there – cameras from all over the world – and it suddenly hit him. He was very unsteady for a while after that,” Harris explained.

He was also groped by a female fan during an outing which did not help with the situation. And things did not improve for a long time.

“As the term progressed, the winter weather soon grew cold, grey and austere, and he found it difficult to make new friends,” the author wrote. “He missed his brother too.”

However, Charles intervened when William expressed his desire to transfer to another university.

“I don’t think I was homesick. I was more daunted,” William said about his time. “My father was very understanding about it and realised I had the same problem as he had probably had.”

He continued, “We chatted a lot and in the end we both realised—I definitely realised—that I had to come back.”

Earlier this month, Prince Harry had revealed in his BBC interview that the King is not speaking to him due to his legal appeal for security. He also stated, “I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore.”

Although, according to royal expert Hilary Fordwich, it is “extremely unlikely” that the King would meet his estranged son as he has “destroyed any trust with his public airing of grievances in his security dispute”.

However, there is a paper-slim chance that Harry might be able to win back his father’s trust. If the King finds a way to reunite with Harry, there is a possibility that he may reconnect his two sons.
