King Charles marks key moment in reign following major Palace delays

Royal family celebrates major first for King Charles as the monarch mulls huge decision
Royal family made a grand gesture for King Charles as Buckingham Palace released an important statement following a series of delays.
Charles, who shares good relations with the royal family of Bahrain, received a special gift as he was at the verge of an important decision for the palace.
The King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, sent Charles a Rolls-Royce car as a Coronation gift as revealed in the records released for 2023 by the Palace. Along with the car, the newly-crowned monarch had also received a decorative clock.
The vehicle is now part of the royal fleet for official rather than personal use. However, it has not yet been seen carrying the Royal family on public duty.
It is understood that the luxury gift is the ‘only car given by a foreign royal family to be in the state fleet’.
The Palace often releases the official list of the gifts received by members of the royal family annually but the matter was delayed due to several factors. According to reports, the delay was caused by the Covid pandemic, death of Queen Elizabeth and the coronation.
However, this the first time the list has been published in King Charles’s reign.
The gift is also a reflection of Charles’s life-long advocacy to protect the natural environment as he has been making more eco-friendly changes around the Palace. The car can reportedly run on both petrol and biofuel.
Previously, royal sources shared that the British monarch has been making key decisions for his protocol to commute. Speculation emerged that Charles was planning to ditch the age-old car brand for the royal family if they fail to deliver an eco-friendly option.
An insider told The Sun that Charles had given orders for a fleet of British-made £160,000 electric Lotus car.
It remains to be seen if the Palace will be adding more of the eco-friendly version of the luxury cars for the monarch, as he takes a more active approach to make big changes.
