Lip reader exposes royals’ conversations: Louis’ harsh response to Kate Middleton’s mother move

Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, returned to public life today at the King’s official birthday celebrations – Trooping the Colour – and fans were delighted to see the Royal Family together, including Prince William, Camilla, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis

It’s been a big day for the Royal Family, with the Princess of Wales stepping back into the spotlight following her cancer treatment.

She joined King Charles and Camilla for the annual Trooping the Colour ceremony at Buckingham Palace, giving fans their first glimpse of the future Queen in months.

After revealing her chemotherapy will continue for another few months in an emotional statement yesterday, Kate was seen chatting, laughing and joking with her in-laws during the rainy afternoon. Many of the sweet moments were caught on camera, meaning The Mirror’s lip reader, Nicola Hickling, has been able to work out exactly what The Firm were discussing during the day.

From King Charles’ emotional admission to Kate’s mum move and Prince Louis’ savage remark to Charlotte – we look back at some of the conversations you may have missed when watching on TV.

Charles’ emotional admission

Charles, who is undergoing treatment for cancer, left Buckingham Palace for the event in a carriage alongside Queen Camilla this morning. It is understood the King was advised by doctors to conduct the Trooping the Colour review from the Ascot Landau carriage, instead of on horseback as he did last year.

The King confessed that he felt ‘tearful’ as the parade kicked off, a lip reader said

Charles and Camilla were seen in discussion as they took in the magnificent sights and the King made a touching admission to his wife about the celebrations. According to Nicola, Charles said to Camilla in the carriage: “Oh dear, I don’t know why I’m feeling rather tearful.”

Kate’s regal instruction

The Princess of Wales gave her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, a very regal instruction as they watched the military spectacle from a building overlooking the parade ground. Kate, 42, appeared to tell her brood to stay where they were on arriving at Horse Guards.

And all four of them were seen watching on from the window – and at one point Kate issued the youngsters with some instructions, according to lip reader Nicola. She appeared to say: “You stay there, OK?” And after bending down to Charlotte, she added: “Keep smiling and stay here for one moment.”

Louis’ brutal reply

Louis, six, had a brutal reply for his sister Charlotte, nine, as she tried to keep him in check at Trooping the Colour today. Kate could be seen whispering in the ear of Charlotte as the band played, which delighted Louis as he danced along during the quick march of the Scots Guards to Highland Laddie.

But it seemed to catch the ire of his older sister, lip reader Nicola noted. As Louis danced, Charlotte appeared to say: “You have to stop doing that. Watch the parade”, to which Louis replied: “I won’t”. In turn, Charlotte seems to say: “Do as you’re told” and Louis brutally added: “Nope.”

Playful Louis

At one point during the military show on Horse Guards Parade, Louis began to tug on some window blind cords as he watched Trooping with his mum Kate. He seemed quite enamoured with the beaded cord.

And according to Nicola, he asked his mum: “Can I play with these beads?” However Kate appeared to tell him in return: “No. I need you concentrate on the parade.”

Louis’ delight

After watching the military parade, the royals made their way back to Buckingham Palace to appear on the balcony to watch the RAF flypast. As the planes began roaring overhead, Kate appeared to ask her youngest son: “Did you like that?” to which Louis replied: “That was so much fun.”

Guessing games

While the royals were on the balcony, many seemingly took the opportunity to guess which aircraft were soaring overhead.

Nicola spotted Charles debating with Camilla whether we could see a Hawk or a Typhoon, while William, George and Louis discussed, which planes were their favourite. George seemingly said that Louis’ favourite was “the black one over there”. Elsewhere Charles also expressed is amazement at the crowds by appearing to say: “It’s amazing the amount of people who made it.”
