Meghan Markle ‘makes the first move towards reconciling with Kate Middleton after fallout’
Meghan Markle has ‘contacted’ Kate Middleton and ‘moves are being made’ behind the scenes after Prince Harry’s thoughtful visit to his father King Charles after his cancer diagnosis
Meghan Markle might have already made the first move towards patching up her relationship with Kate Middleton.
The Duchess of Sussex and the Princess of Wales have had a fraught relationship in recent years. The Sussexes took aim at several members of the Royal Family in their explosive Netflix docuseries, with Harry further attacking his family in his debut memoir Spare. It’s also believed Meghan is gearing up to “set the record straight” about her time in The Firm by writing her own memoir.
Reports suggest the Duchess of Sussex made the Princess of Wales cry just four days before her wedding to Harry. However, during a dramatic interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan said it was actually the other way around. The former actress admitted she had been “hurt” by Kate’s actions.
Harry explained the situation in his memoir, Spare. The Duke of Sussex said he had found Meghan crying “on the floor” after an argument with Kate over bridesmaid dresses. Kate is said to have told Meghan there was a “problem” with her daughter Princess Charlotte’s dress. She’s then alleged to have said all of the bridesmaid dresses needed to be “completely remade.”
But it seems Meghan may now be willing to let bygones be bygones as there appears to have been some movement behind the scenes after Kate’s recent health scare. “Meghan has contacted Kate and Charles,” a source told US Weekly. “So moves are being made to reconcile.”
A second source added: “Meghan is supportive of Harry in all of this, and she wishes the royals — Kate included — the very best.” The source claims Princess Kate is “open” to reconciling and she’s “willing to move forward” but “won’t meddle” in her husband Prince William’s dealings with his younger brother.
“They can use this as a starting point,” the source added. “The consensus is that life is too short, and there’s hope this will lead to repairing the rift.” The source also claims that although Meghan didn’t join Harry when he visited King Charles in the UK last week, she is fully behind his decision to reconnect with his family. “Meghan was in total agreement that Harry had to be there,” the source said. “He got to tell his father how much he loves him and get a fuller account of what Charles is facing.”
