Meghan Markle suffers setback with new logo as town points out ‘surreal similarities’

The Duchess of Sussex revealed that her lifestyle brand American Rivieria Orchard had been revamped to As Ever, explaining that the project would be an “extension” of her “love language” – however there could be another setback
All eyes are on Meghan Markle’s revamped luxury brand As Ever – though some have spotted similarities between its new logo and the coat of arms of a small Spanish town.
Earlier today, Meghan revealed that she would be changing her American Riviera Orchard brand name to the new name As Ever. Sharing the news on Instagram, the Duchess of Sussex explained the reasons behind the move and added that it would be an “extension” of her passions.
As well as sharing the announcement video, a new website for As Ever launched, and featured a sweet picture of Meghan running hand-in-hand with daughter Princess Lilibet. The website also unveiled the brand’s logo, which featured two birds and a palm tree.
However, following the launch, civic bosses in Porreres, Majorca, are allegedly considering whether or not to take action after noting a similarity between its own coat of arms and the logo of As Ever, local media reports. Each logo has a palm tree with two birds flying on either side.

The town’s coat of arms features the use of various colours, while the As Ever logo is white. Speaking to local newspaper Ara Balears, Mayor Francisca Mora said that the similarity was “surreal”. She also explained that they were looking into what ‘course of action’ to take.
However, she said that it was a good opportunity to draw attention to Porreres. “I don’t know if she visited some agritourism sites and saw the coat of arms, because the photo on her website is taken from Majorca,” she explained. The mayor went on to say that the village “feels international” as a result.
She continued: “I hope many people around the world will become aware that in Majorca there is an inland town that has this coat of arms.” The Mirror has contacted representatives for the Duchess of Sussex for comment.
It comes after Meghan suffered some setbacks when trademarking the name American Riviera Orchard. In a new move, the mum-of-two explained that it’d now be rebranded as As Ever for a very special reason.
Speaking in a video, she said: “Last year, I thought you know what, American Riviera, that sounds like such a great name, it’s my neighbourhood, it’s a name for Santa Barbara. But it limited me to things that were just manufactured and grown in this area. Then Netflix came on, not just as my partner in the show but as my partner in business. It was huge.
So I thought about it, and I’ve been waiting for a moment to share a name that I had secured in 2022, and this is the moment, and it’s called As Ever.” Having previously run the lifestyle blog The Tig prior to marrying Prince Harry, Meghan has become known for sharing everything from recipes to beauty tips. Discussing more about the ethos of As Ever, she revealed how it would combine her passions into one project.
“I’ve always loved cooking, crafting and gardening. This is what I do and I haven’t been able to share it with you in the same way for the past few years but now I can,” Meghan said.
In one moment of the clip, Meghan gave fans a closer peek at what to expect. Following the announcement of the American Riviera Orchard last year, the Duchess of Sussex sent jars of jam to celebrities who posted about it on social media.
Alluding to this, she added: “Of course there will be fruit preserve. I think we’re all clear at this point that jam is my jam. There’s so many more products that I love and use in my home. It’s time to share it with you. So I can’t wait for you guys to see it. Thanks guys.”
In the caption of the clip, Meghan shared further details about the launch and called As Ever something she’d “poured my heart into”. She even revealed the meaning behind the new name. “’As ever’ means ‘as it’s always been’ or some even say ‘in the same way as always’. If you’ve followed along since my days of creating The Tig, you’ll know this couldn’t be truer for me,” the caption read.
This new chapter is an extension of what has always been my love language, beautifully weaving together everything I cherish — food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living, and finding joy in the everyday.
“I will keep sharing behind the scenes tidbits with you here as we ramp up to launch, and I can’t wait for you to get your hands on everything we’ve been creating. Sending lots of love…As ever, Meghan.”
