Prince Harry addresses divorce speculation in marriage to Meghan Markle

After the two haven’t been seen together since mid-August, Prince Harry clarified the situation on Wednesday amid a lot of rumors about his marriage to Meghan Markle.
During the New York Times 2024 DealBook Summit, the Prince talked to NYT columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin about the public’s interest in his marriage to Meghan and addressed the rumors.
As he got closer to the subject on stage, Andrew said, “I Google Newsed you, and there were people fascinated by everything you’re doing all the time,” according to People.

“Meghan, who is currently in California, has captured their attention, and you are here. Additionally, there are articles everywhere that ask, “Why are you creating and hosting independent events?” “Why do you not do them together?”
“Because you invited me, you should have known!” Harry joked quickly.
Andrew went on: “Is that a good thing for you, in a way, that there’s so much interest in you?”
As the father of two said, “No, that’s definitely not a good thing,” It seems like we’ve moved or purchased a home ten or twelve times. It appears that we have also divorced perhaps ten or twelve times. Thus, it’s simply like, “What?”

The only way to deal with the rumors, according to Harry, who spoke at the summit about media disinformation and the perils of the digital world, was to ignore them.
You just kind of ignore it because it’s difficult to keep up with. The trolls are the ones I feel the most sorry for,” he remarked.
“They keep building their hopes, and then they say, ‘Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,’ and then it never materializes. I therefore feel bad for them. I really do.
He continued by stating that his remarks at the summit would “no doubt” be misconstrued against him, for which he offered the columnist a lighthearted apology.
Harry stated on stage that he can accomplish his “main goal” of “being the best husband and dad” he can be by ignoring the online trolls.

After his mother Diana passed away tragically in 1997, he was no stranger to the perils of the press and described the harm that misinformation has caused him as a public figure.
Since I was a young child, I have lived through it. “I’ve come across narratives about myself that aren’t entirely accurate,” he remarked.
“I’ve seen tales about friends, family, strangers, and a variety of other people. And I believe that growing up in that kind of environment makes you start to doubt not only the veracity of the information but also what other people are thinking about it and how harmful it can become over time.”

Their two children, Archie, age five, and Lilibet, age three, are back at their Montecito home. Harry informed Andrew during the summit that it was the best course of action for their family to raise them in the United States.
He remarked, “I very much enjoy living here and bringing up my kids here,” before going on to say that his kids are free to engage in activities that they “undoubtedly wouldn’t be able to do in the U.K.”
