Prince Harry’s latest move ‘shows he has no interest in patching things up with Royal family’
Prince Harry is said to be ‘upset and emotional’ after seeing footage of the extended Royal Family attending the King’s official birthday celebrations, but an expert has claimed it is likely too late for any potential reconciliation
While it’s been suggested that Prince Harry may be planning a UK return to mend fences with the Royal Family, one expert doubts the likelihood of this given the Duke’s series of missed overtures.
In a sequence of perceived slights to Harry – including his absence from June’s Trooping the Colour invite list, a missed meeting with King Charles in May and non-inclusion on the guest list for his close pal, the Duke of Westminster’s nuptials, many question his intent.
Veteran commentator and former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said: “If Harry had really wanted to confront his family and patch things up, he would surely have allotted more time to his recent visits so that his father at least could make arrangements to see him.
“I don’t think there’s any chance of William wanting to do so, particularly with all he has on his plate right now. So, I’ll believe this when I see it, but it will be lovely if he could indeed spend some time, perhaps at Balmoral, during the summer and make peace with his father.”
The specialist’s remarks follow the claim that footage of the King’s official birthday celebration from his US residence left Prince Harry feeling “upset and emotional” after viewing scenes featuring his late mother, Princess Diana, reports OK!.
A source spilled to Closer magazine: “He can’t believe it’s come to this, and he’s now saying he’s going to fly over and force them to face him. He’s still a prince, after all; they’re still his family, and whether they like it or not, he’s refusing to just be cast aside. He continues to be heartbroken and confused by the way he’s being treated by the royals. It’s as though he doesn’t exist anymore.”
An individual with knowledge of the situation has disclosed that Harry is struggling immensely with the inability to “bond” with his once “beloved” sister-in-law Kate Middleton.
The source added: “He’s not getting updates on his father or Kate’s health, and even basic communications are pretty well non-existent.”
During his latest public engagement, Harry opened up about his mother’s death, advising children against “suppressing” their feelings as he did in the past.

Prince Harry shared with a group of grieving youngsters that holding onto grief indefinitely could “eat away” at them, drawing from his own life lessons.
“You convince yourself that the person you’ve lost wants you, or you need to be sad for as long as possible to prove to them that they are missed. But then there’s this realisation of, no, they must want me to be happy,” he told them.
