Queen Camilla blocks King Charles from reuniting with Prince Harry during London trip, pal claims
Queen Camilla has put her foot down and urged King Charles to avoid meeting up with Prince Harry during the estranged duke’s current trip to London, according to a report.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, is visiting home soil for a series of charity events — most recently presenting a WellChild Award at Monday night’s ceremony.
But despite being in the same time zone as his estranged father, it seems as though a royal reunion will not be penciled into his diary.
Camilla has reportedly advised her cancer-stricken husband to steer clear of his younger son this time around in an effort to avoid unnecessary stress during his health battle, her pal has told the Daily Beast.
“[Camilla] has been the principal voice urging Charles to slow down and take things easy,” her friend told the outlet. “The last thing she wants him to do is to get stressed out over a meeting with Harry.”
Camilla also wants her husband to be fit enough to travel to Australia later this month — a trip he is preparing for by enjoying some downtime at his Scotland residence.
It’s reported that Charles has no intention of traveling to London during Harry’s visit.
The monarch, 75, has only seen Harry once this year, when the duke flew to the UK in February after hearing of his father’s cancer diagnosis.
Elsewhere, Camilla’s pal told the outlet that Charles is eager to bury the hatchet with his estranged son for personal reasons, as well as to ease pressure on the monarchy.
“The king has an instinctive impulse toward Christian reconciliation, and his cancer diagnosis has only sharpened that,” the source said.
“He wants this settled, not just because he loves both his sons, but because it has been so destabilizing for the monarchy.”
The Post has reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment.
Earlier this year, Harry made it clear that he was willing to meet with his father to discuss the possibility of a reconciliation.
The father of two publicly said he was disappointed not to have met up with Charles during his quick dash to the UK in May, but said he hoped the pair could meet in the future.
