Royal fans are not keeping calm after the unveiling of a controversial AI-generated portrait of King Charles, calling it ‘creepy,’ ‘disrespectful,’ and a poor reflection of the monarch.

The artwork, created by humanoid robot Ai-Da and showcased at the United Nations’ AI for Good Summit, has sparked a wave of criticism online, with many users expressed concern over artificial intelligence encroaching on human creativity, with the development labelled by some as unsettling.

Reactions online were largely negative, with one user calling the painting ‘absolutely creepy.’

Another dismissed the portrait as lacking any real beauty while a third bluntly referred to it as ‘complete garbage.’

A particularly worried commenter added, ‘AI is not just replacing jobs-it’s taking over passions and talents that were once uniquely human. We are beyond cooked.’

Ai-Da previously painted Queen Elizabeth II for her Platinum Jubilee in 2022. Both her portrait and Algorithm King are now displayed side by side.
