The royal family could have hired a professional photographer if they wanted to, but Kate’s choice to share a self-portrait followed an annual practice for celebrating the birthdays of her children.

The Princess of Wales’s continuous fight with an unidentified kind of cancer has disrupted her typical routine this year. Kate confirmed in June that she was still undergoing treatment for a couple of months still.

The Princess gave an unusual health update last month, stating: “My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.” “When I’m in good enough health, I love being involved in school life, spending my free time doing what makes me happy and energetic, and I’ve even started working from home a bit.”
