Trump sends his prayers to King Charles for a ‘fast and full recovery’ from cancer: Ex-President calls monarch a ‘wonderful man’ who he got to know ‘very well’ during his presidency

Former President Donald Trump issued an all-caps message praising King Charles after his shock cancer diagnosis, sending prayers for a speedy recovery to someone he ‘got to know well.’

Trump’s was just one of the many acknowledgements that came in following the news that the King, 75, has begun treatment for an unidentified former of cancer, with President Biden saying he plans to call the King soon.

King Charles, whose whose coronation was in May, was receiving treatment for an enlarged prostate when physicians identified an issue of concern that turned out to be cancer, according to Buckingham Palace

‘KING CHARLES HAS CANCER. HE IS A WONDERFUL MAN, WHO I GOT TO KNOW WELL DURING MY PRESIDENCY, AND WE ALL PRAY THAT HE HAS A FAST AND FULL RECOVERY!’ Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

It came on a day when Trump gave a podcast interview, railed against ‘Crooked Joe Biden’ for not doing a Super Bowl interview, crowed about paying off loans for his commercial properties, and said the civil business fraud case against him in New York should be dismissed.

Trump while in office had occasion to interact with Charles multiple times before he ascended to the throne. During one encounter, Tea at Clarence House, Trump kept Charles waiting for an hour.

Four biographies identified Trump as the source of reported rumors that members of the Royal Family were planning to purchase units in Trump properties.

Trump in his 1987 book Art of the Deal admitted benefiting from the reports that were denied by the Palace at the time. ‘It certainly didn’t hurt us, but I had to laugh to myself,’ he wrote.

Trump’s well wishes came on a day President Joe Biden said he plans to speak to King Charles III after Buckingham Palace revealed he has been diagnosed with cancer.

In his first comments on the 75-year-old British monarch’s health, Biden told  DailyMail.com that ‘God willing’ he will speak to him soon.

‘I’m about to call him,’ Biden said during the outpouring of support from around the world: ‘I’m concerned about him. Just heard about his diagnosis.’

The president learned about Charles’ shock news before meeting with culinary workers in Las VegasNevada.

He answered questions less than two hours after the Palace announced in a statement on Monday night that The King has cancer.

The monarch has returned to London from Sandringham to begin treatment immediately.

His condition is not connected with his recent medical procedure for an enlarged prostate, and is not prostate cancer.

The palace did not say what form of cancer he has.

The King is understood to have personally informed his sons Prince William and Prince Harry about his condition.

Harry will be flying to London from the U.S. in the ‘coming days’ to be by his father’s side as he begins treatment.

Biden last met King Charles at Windsor Castle in July. It was their first time holding talks since the Coronation in May.

The pair shared a handshake and smiles in the historic quadrangle before holding a discussion on climate change.

Biden did not attend the Coronation but had a 30-minute phone call with Charles which led to an invite for a UK state visit.

First Lady Jill Biden and her granddaughter Finnegan went to the ceremony instead as representatives of the U.S.

Buckingham Palace said in a statement on Monday: ‘During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.

‘His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.

‘The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure.

‘He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.

‘His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.’

The King also apologized for having to postpone his upcoming engagements.

A spokesman added: ‘Regrettably, a number of the King’s forthcoming public engagements will have to be rearranged or postponed.

‘His Majesty would like to apologise to all those who may be disappointed or inconvenienced as a consequence.’

Announcing that Prince Harry will come and see his father, a source close to the Duke said: ‘The duke did speak with his father about his diagnosis.

‘He will be traveling to UK to see His Majesty in the coming days.’

All of the King’s siblings, the Princess Royal, the Duke of York and the Duke of Edinburgh were told personally by Charles, royal aides said.
