The Big Bang Theory star has been in a relationship with actor Tom Pelphrey since 2022, and the two have since expanded their family with the birth of their daughter Matilda in March 2023. Well, the longtime couple just took a new step in their relationship, as Kaley revealed on Instagram they are engaged!
As she posted a photo of the twosome showing off her ring (along with a video showing it off, featuring two small diamonds flanking a larger one on a gold band), Kaley couldn’t stop gushing about how special the moment was.
“Amazing weekend @tommypelphrey,” she wrote on her Instagram story on August 14. “What a wild, beautiful journey life can be. Grateful for every road that led me straight to you.”
Kaley wasn’t the only one excited by her heartwarming update.
Shortly after the Based on a True Story actress revealed the news, Tom confirmed it with his own post on Instagram. “Not another road real or imagined I would rather be on. 🙌,” he sweetly captioned an image of him, Kaley and Matilda.
Naturally, seeing Kaley and Tom’s engagement had fans thrilled for them in Tom’s comments.
“I am beyond happy that you have found such a love and that has turned into an amazing family for you. ❤️❤️❤️,” one person wrote. “Beautiful. ❤️ And such a blessing. Enjoy!” another congratulated. “Congratulations on your engagement!! Wishing you and Kaley all of the happiness in the world! ♥️🌹♥️,” a different follower exclaimed.
While Kaley and Tom’s engagement marks the next chapter in their lives, they’ve been open about the significance of their relationship in the press. When speaking about her romance in May 2022, Kaley told USA Today how it felt like “love at first sight” when she met him.
“I heard his voice, and I turned around, and it was like my life was over, or just starting,” she told the outlet at the time. “It hit me. It was love at first sight. We were immediately connected. I do feel like I’ve known him my whole life, but I wasn’t ready for him. We’re ready to build a life together.”
