‘The Big Bang Theory’ Cast’s Dating Histories Through the Years: Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki and More
The Big Bang Theory, which ran for 12 seasons, followed the daily adventures of a group of scientists and their significant others until the show’s conclusion in May 2019.
The show, which premiered in September 2007, starred Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch. While filming the sitcom, the cast got particularly close. Cuoco and Galecki, specifically, even secretly dated for two years before calling it quits in December 2009.
After the two actors amicably split, their onscreen counterparts (Penny and Leonard, respectively) were still going strong.
“We weren’t weird, which is what was weird,” Cuoco told Haute Living Los Angeles in May 2019. “It was a mutual breakup, and you can rarely say that. Johnny and I were friends first, then obviously we dated.”

Jim Parsons
After he publicly came out in 2012, the Boys in the Band star wed longtime partner Todd Spiewak in May 2017.

Kaley Cuoco
Early in the show’s tenure, Cuoco secretly dated Galecki for two years before they eventually split in 2009. She has also dated the likes of Henry Cavill, Paul Blackthorne, Christopher French and Jaron Lowenstein. She was briefly engaged to Josh Resnik in 2011 and later married tennis player Ryan Sweeting in December 2013 before getting divorced in 2015. She eventually wed equestrian Karl Cook in June 2018 but the pair announced their split in 2021. The Meet Cute actress debuted her romance with Ozark’s Tom Pelphrey via Instagram in May 2022.
Five months after going public with Pelphrey, Cuoco confirmed she was pregnant with their first child, a baby girl. The 8 Simple Rules alum gave birth to the couple’s daughter, Matilda, in March 2023.
Johnny Galecki
In addition to dating his former TV wife, Galecki has been linked to Kelli Garner, Ari Graynor and Laura Harris. He began dating Alaina Meyer in 2018 and they welcomed a son, Orbison, one year later. They called it quits in November 2020.
Galecki revealed in Architectural Digest’s March 2024 issue that he quietly married Morgan Galecki and the pair live in Nashville. The outlet also confirmed that Johnny and Morgan share daughter Oona, whom they welcomed after working with the magazine.
Mayim Bialik
The Call Me Kat star was previously married to Michael Stone for nearly ten years before divorcing in May 2013. The pair share two sons, Miles and Frederick. She then privately dated a man for five years before calling it quits in 2018, per an essay on her Grok Nation website. She is currently dating Jonathan Cohen, who cohosts her “Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown” podcast, and even referred to him as her “partner” during a February 2021 interview with Forbes.
Kunal Nayyar
He married Neha Kapur, a former Miss India pageant queen, in December 2011 after dating for two years.
Simon Helberg
Helberg has been married to Jocelyn Towne since July 2007 and the duo shares two children, Adeline and Wilder.
Melissa Rauch
Rauch shares two children, Sadie and Brooks, with husband Winston Rauch, whom she wed in 2007.
