Young & Restless Vet Making a Surprising Comeback
These days, fans probably know Chrishell Stause from the Netflix real-estate hit, Selling Sunset, but it wasn’t that long ago that the actress was tearing through daytime. Her first role, of course, was All My Children’s Amanda, then she made the hop over to Days of Our Lives to play physical therapist/sociopath Jordan and The Young and the Restless to tackle Bethany, who delighted in getting mixed up with Billy and Phyllis’ cheating drama.
While Stause has continued to act since joining Selling Sunset in 2019, she’s only made a handful of soap appearances, popping up in some form or another on Days of Our Lives as the now-deceased Jordan. Now, though, she’ll be making a soapy return — but it won’t be as either Bethany OR Jordan! Instead, it’ll be an entirely new turn when she joins Amazon Freevee’s Australian sudser, Neighbours!
Neighbours — which earned two Daytime Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series — has seen countless Australian stars pass through in its four decades on the air, including Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth. Stause, though, will be tackling a new character, Yasmine “Yas” Shields, a “glamorous and successful businesswoman in pursuit of an exciting new opportunity,” in a role written specifically for her.
“We are thrilled to welcome Chrishell to the cast of Neighbours,”executive producer Jason Herbison noted. “We created a character especially for her and we can’t wait for her to bring the storyline alive. Expect intrigue and surprises – and many implications for the residents of Ramsay Street.”
And Stause couldn’t be more excited to head to Australia for the soap! “I am honored and excited to join such a beloved and iconic show!” she shared. “Coming from the world of soaps in the U.S., it’s back to my first love in the entertainment industry. They pitched me an idea for a character, and I was immediately excited to figure out a way to make it happen. Ramsay Street here I come!”
While it’s not quite clear when she’ll be airing or how long she’ll be sticking around, Stause is set to head to Australia in July to begin filming for the guest star role.
