EastEnders Icon Makes Explosive Return with Unforeseen Twists
EastEnders legend finally returns and he has shocks in store
EastEnders legend Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) is set to return to Albert Square in upcoming scenes, but he faces a number of shocks.
While he was away, Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) formed a close friendship with Pastor Clayton (Howard Saddler), though things took a distressing turn when he became overly tactile with her.
When she tried to call out his behaviour, he punished her by putting his wife in charge of her charity food truck project.
However, recent scenes saw the pair repair their friendship when Yolande apologised for her accusations, and Pastor Clayton allowed her to take back control of the project.
The pair are keen to catch up, but Pastor Clayton grows irritated that Yolande’s attention has been diverted.
As Yolande and Patrick talk, he is shocked to learn that Denise Fox (Diane Parish) is now living with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), and he wastes no time in confronting cheating Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) when he finds out why.
However, Denise is keen to keep some aspects of her life private, and asks Yolande not to tell Patrick about her recent hospital stay.
Unfortunately, Patrick gets the impression that they are hiding something, which leaves him suspicious.
He is also confused about why Denise isn’t angry at Jack, and soon organises a meal with her, Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams) and the kids in a bid to spend some quality time together and find out more.
Though Yolande is busy with the fundraiser, she agrees to attend, and when Pastor Clayton interrupts she invites him to join them as well.
Through the course of the meal, it becomes clear to Patrick that Pastor Clayton knows more about Denise’s struggles than he does, and soon grows jealous of his closeness to Yolande and the family.
Even though they are just picking up supplies, Patrick and Yolande soon get into a furious row over it, where Yolande bans Patrick from attending the fundraiser.
Later, Yolande faces horror when Pastor Clayton finds her alone and sexually assaults her. Following the attack, Yolande seeks solace in the Launderette where she confides in Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe).
Will she open up to Patrick about her ordeal?
